another overdue blogpost...lol the concert was like in june...
watched this concert with mojo jefry and hofai haha itink we are musically very adventurous to buy tix for this contemporary music concert...
the first piece was titled '100metronomes' itink...but in another language...aniwae...it was played even before the concert started, when the audience were still making their way into the concert hall haha...this concert made use of videos too...and accompanying the '100metronomes' was a graphic animation of itink 100 sticks oscillating lol...the sound was chaotic yet structured...and when the piece was over the musicians went on stage!
haha ok the music is hard to describe...itink just the word 'contemporary' would do fine lol...u cant say its melodious, but each piece of contemporary music played had its own character and itink were rather powerful musically...the different animations for each piece were nicely done!
a few of the more interesting pieces are the modified piano pieces and the 'live-insects' onstage lol...the modified piano made funny sounds when played and in the postshow dialogue it was explained that the pianist had to tweak the piano quite a bit lol...
for the 'live-insects' piece...there was a fishtank with insects, microphone and video recorder...the video of the insects and the sounds made by them were screened realtime onstage...and the musicians played their instruments along with the sounds...
during the intermission there were random contemporary music and animations screened with the projector...and some are good, while some are intense...
the other music pieces were exciting as well...and when the concert was over i thought that it was a great show!
